FREE Opportunity at QVCC

See below on an announcement from Quinebaug Valley Community College regarding a FREE course for students interested in pursuing a one-year certificate program in Advanced Manufacturing Technology.

QVCC is offering a “free” Blueprint Reading course this spring semester.  This course is for students interested in beginning the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Certificate program in the fall 2016 semester. There will be no cost to the student!  The tuition, fees, and books will be covered.  QVCC will follow this course with a “free” Manufacturing Math course in the summer for the same group of students.  This way, when students begin the Manufacturing program in the fall they will have a reduced course load and will attend courses Monday through Friday from 3 to 7pm instead of 3 to 9:30pm. There is no fee for the application and there is no specific GPA required to take advantage of this opportunity.  Again, this is for students interested in pursuing QVCC’s one year certificate program in Advanced Manufacturing Technology during the 2016-2017 academic year.

View our Advanced Manufacturing Technology video here

The course is offered on the QVCC campus from 3:30-5:30 pm on Tuesdays.  It begins on January 21st.

Applications are available in the EOS Guidance Office.

College Goals Sunday

Program Providing Free Assistance for FAFSA

Sunday, January 31
Eastern CT State University

1:00-4:00 pm

Need help working your way through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)?  It's available.  See below.

The Connecticut College Goal Sunday (CGS) program is an effort by hundreds of volunteers from across Connecticut who will come together with the common goal of making sure that the process of applying for college financial aid does not become an obstacle that would keep any person from pursuing an education beyond high school. By attending a College Goal Sunday event, participants will receive free, hands-on assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and they will walk away with the satisfaction of knowing they have accomplished one of the biggest steps in getting ready to go to college. Connecticut’s CGS will take place at a number of accessible sites throughout the state. In addition to receiving assistance in filling out the FAFSA, participants will receive general information regarding financial aid programs.
